Damaris Circle
Circle Name: Damaris
Why did you choose that name? When we were considering names, we thought of several women. One of the favorites was Abigail – respected by her servants, defender of her home – courageous, industrious and wise. But we feared she would be too closely associated with her situation and her husband. Then Phoebe came to mind as well for her nurturing, hospitality and service. Damaris, although relatively unknown, had that component that all share in Christ, responding to the Truth of the Gospel. We liked the name. So she became the name and the other character traits worthy of emulating as we work out our faith in deeds.
