Project Linus

Betty Mood, who has passed away, had a LARGE stash of materials in her attic. She must have been quite a saver, because we have enough corduroy to make blankets for many years. Thank you Mood family for donating this precious supply of fabric for us to use!

After retrieving the material, then came the question of what to do with it. Almost immediately after asking God how we could use it for His Kingdom, one of our members heard an announcement on the radio for Project Linus. Funny how God works in small ways! Our very own Project Linus was launched with awesome success. We have met to sew, stuff, tie and finish numerous blankets. The women and teens have had a wonderful time fellowshipping, laughing, learning and eating together. Our youngest helper was 8 years old and the oldest, Helen Harvey, was 88 years old. The group loves our time together and is always asking:
"When are we meeting again?"

We usually meet on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, September thru May.

We donate the finished blankets to hospitals, foster homes, sick children or any child who may need a blanket to hug.

If you desire to help with the project, contact Deb Dressler or Kathy Harvey. You do not need to have sewing skills but a heart to serve. We will find a job for you and teach you how to do it.
