We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and serves as the final authority and guide for both individual Christians and the Church.
We believe that Bible reading and study are vital parts of the growing Christian's life. (II Tim 3:16; Hebrews 4:12-13; II Peter 1:12-21; Psalm 119:1-176)
We believe that there is one God who exists in the persons of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-2; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; John 1:1-18, 16:5-16)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Creator (John 1:1-5; Colossians 1:15-16; Hebrews 1:2), Sustainer (Colossians 1:17; Hebrews 1:3), and Redeemer (Colossians 1:20; Rev 5:1-14) of the Universe.
We believe He came to earth as God in the flesh and was born of a virgin. (Matt 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1-51; Philippians 2:5-11)
We believe Christ lived a sinless life. (II Corinthians 5:21)
We believe Jesus' purpose was to announce the arrival of the Kingdom of God; to offer Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of all people, and to proclaim salvation to those who believe and receive His message. (Luke 4:19-20, 19:10; John 3:1-21)
We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified, died, was buried, and resurrected from the dead. We believe Jesus ascended to the right hand of God and presently makes intercession for Christians to the Father. (Matthew 27:1-66, 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-20; Luke 23:1-56, 24:1-53; John 19:1-42, 20:1-31; Ephesians 1:17-23; Hebrews 1:1-4, 7:24-25;
We believe Christ will return to earth to judge and rule the entire world at the end of this age. (Matt 25:31-46; John 5:22-30; Revelation 20:11-15)
Sin & Salvation
We believe that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." We believe all people are in need of God's mercy, forgiveness, and grace in order to be restored to a right relationship with God. (Romans 3:23, 5:18-19; Ephesians 2:1-3)
We believe that salvation is obtained only by the grace of God, through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Salvation cannot be gained in whole or in part by human efforts or goodness. The lost receive this grace through belief in the work of Christ, repentance of sin, confession of Christ as Lord, and baptism into Christ. (John 3:16, 14:6, Romans 3:22-26, 6:23, 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:4-10, 13-17, 3:12; Titus 3:5-7; Hebrews 9:11-18, 10:1-18)
We believe that godly faith produces repentance from sin and a desire in the believer to be obedient to God and His Word. (II Cor 7:8-11; James 2:14-26)
We believe that the Holy Spirit of God indwells every believer in Jesus Christ.
We believe the Holy Spirit is the seal of each person's salvation and that he works in each person to convict, encourage, empower, guide, and assist Christians in living a godly life.
We believe the Holy Spirit gives each Christian special gifts or abilities for them to use in ministry to others. (John 14:16-26, 15:26-27, 16:5-15; Acts 2:38; Romans 8 , 12:6; I Corinthians 12:7; Galatians 5:16-26; Ephesians 1:13-14; Philippians 2:13; I Pet 4:10)
We believe that baptism is immersion of the repentant believer in water in the Name of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; therefore baptism sets forth the essential facts in redemption, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It also sets forth the essential facts in the experience of the believer, death to sin and resurrection to newness of life.
We believe baptism is commanded by Jesus, who Himself set the example of baptism by being baptized. (Matthew 3:13-17, 28:18-20; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38-41, 8:12, 35-39, 9:17-18, 10:34-38, 16:13-15, 29-34; Romans 6:1-14; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12)
We believe that the Church is the Body and Bride of Christ and that local congregations are to be led by godly men known as deacons, elders, and pastors.
We believe the purpose of the Church on earth is to glorify God by proclaiming the Supremacy of His Son Jesus Christ and fulfilling His "Great Commission", recorded in Matthew 28:18-20. (Acts 14:23; Romans 12:5; I Cor 10:16-17, 12:12-31; I Tim 5:17; Titus 1:5; I Peter 5:1-4; Rev 21:2, 9)
We believe in Heaven as the place created by God for the eternal existence of the children of God. (Matthew 25:31-40, 46; John 14:1-4; Rev. 21:7)
We believe in Hell as the place created by God, originally for Satan and his angels, which will be the eternal dwelling place of all those who have rejected Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Matt 25:41-46; Rev 21:8)
Gender, Sexuality and Marriage
We believe God created human beings male and female as a reflection of His image and likeness. (Gen 1:27). Therefore gender is a sacred gift from our Creator to be expressed as He has ordained. It is not a "construct" of humanity, subject to cultural and societal norms to be expressed according to ones own feelings, perceptions, or self-identification. (Romans 9:20-21)
We believe human sexual activity is to be reserved for expression within the marital relationship. (Gen 2:24; Proverbs 5:15-23, 6:32; Hebrews 13:4)
We believe that marriage is the sacred, God-ordained union of one man and one woman, for the remainder of their natural lives. (Gen 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:2-12)
We believe the husband-wife relationship is a representation of the relationship between Jesus Christ and His Bride, the Church. As such, the boundaries and purpose of marriage are defined by the Word of God, not the desires of human beings. (Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 3:18-19; I Peter 3:1-7)
